Message from the principal
Yáu KCS Families,
I hope you had a wonderful, restful, and safe summer break. For the last few years, we have faced many challenges during the pandemic. Throughout COVID-19, we have experienced many pressures that affected our learning community. We look forward to the new school year, where we transition to proactive recovery, strategies, and care.
We have also learned what is possible when we work together. Our KCS staff shows their dedication to our students every day and commits to providing them with encouragement, belief, and opportunities necessary for them to pursue their passions. I would also like to thank families and the community for their continued support. Wálas Ǧiáxsix̌a!
Building strong relationships and a sense of belonging will start our journey of deep learning at Kitasoo Community School. Our staff will support students so they can thrive and grow in our changing world. At Kitasoo Community School, students will have daily opportunities to apply their thinking to new situations, address local and global challenges, and engage in the joys of learning.
Kitasoo Community School is an inclusive, diverse learning community that welcomes and supports all abilities. Every day, we celebrate the students’ unique gifts, talents, and ideas. KCS educators will collaborate with students, parents, caregivers, Elders, community members, and other staff to guide, challenge, and inspire all students.
I am deeply committed to student success and creating learning environments that support and improve all learners’ personal and academic success, and am looking forward to a wonderful 2022/2023 school year.
I look forward to working with all of you in the year ahead!
Principal, Kitasoo Community School
